Landing Update

Our first sunflowers have popped up over the weekend, with plenty more to come, they are a great pollinator inviting lots of bees up to the landing. If recent hot temperatures haven’t done so already, they are a vibrant indicator that summer is well and truly here.

Coriander is flowering, and the bees love that too head grower Nick is allowing it to develop so we can harvest the fresh green seeds which are full of flavour. In the green house we have a variety of chilli and curry plants, lemon basil and various seedlings . We have a few tobacco plants in there which we intend to make our own wtlgi hot sauce with.

Our first crop of tomatoes are nearly ready and they are full of the sweetness of summer, the polytunnel has been the perfect home for them and our cucumbers which we are also starting to see give fruit. Leeks are doing really well in their bed alongside tromboncino, nasturtiums & runner beans growing up the A frame. The leeks are the main ingredient in one of the dishes on the menu, cooked in a variety of ways to express all aspects of the flavour.
