In September 2023, The Landing was acknowledged as a CIC (Community Interest Company). Although the project started life as a kitchen garden growing produce for Where the Light Gets In it was soon evident that there was more potential to be had from this little strip of rooftop above the Merseyway precinct. 

Gardens can be used as a resource to grow food but the practice is in itself a resource that can benefit all walks of life in a multitude of ways. And it is this that we now focus on.

Drawing on our skills as growers and cooks whilst engaging the talent and knowledge of artists, craft persons, teachers and others we are extending our space as a place of reflection on the way that food and natural resource is utilised and distributed in our society. 

The aim of the CIC is to create green spaces in urban centres that act as community engagement hubs with the agenda of food and natural resource usage and distribution at the centre. Led by creative, scientific and conversational practices these gardens are offered as an opportunity for the wider community to gather autonomy of wellbeing, education, expression and relaxation.
