The Landing Update

Over the winter period, it can feel as though there isn’t much to report on from the landing as the bright greenery and colourful fruits and flowers of the summer are all but a memory. But dig a little deeper and you will always be able to find. Pushing through the snow with much determination this morning, the first shoots of our Elephant Garlic and in the greenhouse wasabi is coming through in recycled plastic carriers made by our friends over at PlasticShed. We have still been seeing lots of wildlife visiting us, the wagtails who nested here in spring have been regulars who we hope will make a home with us again this year. The newest resident is a raven who has been cheekily taking wool from the beds for nesting, we have felt sheets covering our Occa (Peruvian potatoes) to insulate them over winter, at least the stolen goods will be going to a worthy home!
