The Oyster Split

There’s a shop in whalley range called Chicken Run that serves the best sandwich in Manchester.

The ‘chicken split’ is a fried chicken sandwich between a festival dumpling topped with salad cream. It’s simple and delicious and should always be ordered in multiples.

Cal decided we needed a homage to that very special sandwich so he came up with the ‘oyster split’. A Carlingford oyster dredged in buttermilk and our chilli sauce and deep fried in a corn batter on a bun with oyster mayo.

It will never beat the original but it will remind us to visit chicken run once in a while and hope that it inspires you to visit too.
