An Evening with Ignasi Segui of Vinyes Singulars

  • Where The Light Gets in 7 Rostron Brow Stockport, England, SK1 1JY United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a very special evening with Ignasi Segui, the 22nd generation of his family to farm the same land in Alt Penedès, Catalonia. In a region best known for industrial Cava, Ignasi’s work stands apart — a patient, expressive practice rooted in tradition. Since founding Vinyes Singulars in 2009, he’s been quietly cultivating a new identity for this historic estate, where vines share space with cereal crops, olive trees, vegetable gardens and forest. Certified organic since 2010, every part of the land is part of a broader ecosystem.

Perched at 500–600m altitude in the higher reaches of the region, the vines grow on limestone and clay soils, benefitting from hot Mediterranean days and cool nights softened by winds off the Balearic Sea. With more than 30 cuvées made annually in tiny quantities, each from a single parcel, Ignasi treats each vineyard as its own story to be told.

This is a rare opportunity to taste a selection of these distinctive wines in the company of the grower himself. We’ll explore several of his cuvées, paired with a seasonal menu from the kitchen at Where The Light Gets In. Expect a generous, informal evening of conversation, discovery, and plenty of wine.
